TEAM OVERVIEW & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The National Sales Manager, Industrial Specialty will be responsible for business development and sales within the assigned products across Canada. This role focuses on the sale of Specialty Electrical Wire and Cable products, and will target customers such as electrical contractors, consulting engineers, OEMs, electrical and telecom distributors, and municipalities.
What you’ll do:
- Ensures sustained sales and profit growth within the Business Unit
- Develops new customers and nurtures existing to ensure service levels and growth opportunities are maximized
- Provides pertinent information to the Product Management teams, Technical Sales Managers, and Area VPs to assist in the identification and development of new product and market opportunities
- Provides support to Industrial Specialty Product Managers, and the Vice President of Sales Industrial Specialty North America, to achieve sales and profit goals
- Provides weekly reports updating customer activity, surveil market intelligence, providing analysis and trends, and competitor activity and updates
- Responsible for resolving customer complaints and takes appropriate actions to ensure customer retention
- Manages special accounts while working with an existing network of representatives and distributor partners
- Provides accurate sales information to assist in forecasts and budget preparation
- Meets or exceeds all established goals and personal objectives
- Coordinates and attends trade shows and annual regional sales meetings as needed
- Trains and assists customers, consultants, and sales partners
- Works within a matrix organization to communicate to key stakeholders and align activities towards sales objectives and goals
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- 5+ years’ experience in technical sales with a track record of success
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills together with reasoning, mathematical, computer skills, video conferencing skills, and public speaking
- High technical aptitude with basic understanding of customer specifications, sales process, project management, follow-up, and ability to learn product features and benefits
- General home/office environment 40% with 60% travel
- Strong drive, ambition, energy level
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in sales to the Electrical industry, Construction Industry, OEM Industry, or an electrical or mechanical engineering background
