Fort Edmonton Management Company (FEMCo), the organization that operates Fort Edmonton Park, is looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join our team as an Experience Guide. Fort Edmonton Park takes you on an iconic journey through the city’s incredibly rich history. The Park offers visitors authentic and immersive experiences, as well as access to special events, live performances, private event rentals, and culinary delights. Fort Edmonton Management Company’s strategic direction is aimed at making the Park the premier cultural tourism attraction in Western Canada.

The Experience Development team at Fort Edmonton Park (FEP) is responsible for developing year-round products and experiences. By creating these exceptional experiences for our internal stakeholders, vendors, and various organizations, the team develops and enriches FEMCo’s public offerings beyond the heritage summer season.

Experience Guides are integral to ensuring the success of our products. Their strong leadership and customer service excellence ensure that events such as Paranormal Tours, Independent Filming, Where Dark Things Dwell, and DARK, catapult FEP into becoming the best cultural attraction in Western Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate the on-site execution of FEP’s ticketed products as required,-
- Engage with and present information to large groups of guests;-
- Follow directions in program manuals and resources. Additional product-specific scope will be outlined as new experiences are developed;-
- Provide on-site logístical and client/customer service support for a variety of film projects and FEP products;-
- Complete Front of House duties for FEP’s escape adventure product, including guest check-in and wayfinding, event emceeing, guest onboarding, and assisting Game Lead with reset, among other duties;-
- Maintain open and consistent communication with FEP Project Leads, supervisors and any reporting project based staff;-
- Demonstrate professionalism and customer service excellence when interacting with FEP’s guests;-
- Complete administrative tasks such as end of night reports in addition to other miscellaneous administrative tasks as required; ensure project equipment and assets are in good working order-
- Lead program material set up and tear down including locking and unlocking buildings;-
- Monitor their projects/locations and act upon safety hazards and report immediately;-
- Work collaboratively with all members of the FEP team.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 18 years old;-
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills;-
- Experience in event management, client relations, historical interpretation or customer service;-
- Proven experience in facilitating arts programs such as improv, theater, visual arts and / or experience in a leadership role within a team environment is an asset;-
- Must be a highly motivated and organized individual with strong administrative skills;-
- Must be comfortable leading and engaging with large groups of people;-
- Must be able to be flexible and thrive under pressure;-
- Confident presence and strong public speaking skills;-
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to empathize, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a dynamic environment;-
- Proven initiative and enthusiasm along with a genuine interest in understanding the products and services offered by FEP, with a solid understanding of the facility as a whole;-
- Flexible and adaptable; able to manage changing schedules, priorities, and deadlines and triage appropriately;-
- Able to work effectively individually and with a team, maintain effective working relationships, and function with mínimal supervision;-
- Strong sense of accountability and good use of initiative to lead and be self-directed; takes responsibility and escalates when appropriate;-
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to empathize, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a dynamic environment;-
- Able to maintain composure and think strategically in emergency situations;-
- Outgoing, positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with the public.OTHER DETAILS:
- This position operates entirely on site. Employees must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with frequent walking, standing, moderate up and down stairs and across distances between buildings;-
- This position has non-standard hours of work and may be required to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business;-
