Working closely with the Director DEIBR, DEIBR Analyst and Employee Experience team (Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Employee Growth and Development and Organizational Effectiveness), the role will be responsible for developing and maintaining metrics to ensure the leadership accountability for and employee commitments to a truly inclusive working environment are engrained within everything we do.
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Reconciliation (DEIBR) Specialist plays an integral role in supporting programs and initiatives that enhance the employee experience from a DEIBR perspective to continue to build and foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace at Meridian.
As a key member of the DEIBR team, you will work closely with our Director of DEIBR to advance and report on DEIBR efforts.
- Collaborate with Employee Growth and Development to develop DEIBR related training content to educate our workforce and increase levels of awareness
- Develop key performance indicators and metrics to measure, track, and analyze the impact and effectiveness of DEIBR training, programs, and initiatives.
- Assist the DEIBR Team in creating, nurturing and supporting the Meridian Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), ensuring adherence to the DEIBR-ERG goals, objectives and guiding pillars
- Review and evaluate existing DEIBR related training content and provide recommendations for improvement in line with current trends in the DEIBR space
- Keep up to date and research new DEIBR strategies and ideas, training, and tools.
- Working with the ERGs, coordinate and communicate DEIBR initiatives connecting tactics to key metrics.
- Enhance culture by ensuring a commitment to DEIBR is integrated into business processes and programs, including employee hiring, development, training, retention, promotions, compensation, etc.
- Liaise with ERGs and Internal Communications to coordinate DEIBR communications to be a meaningful part of the larger internal communication plan for the organization, including engaging leaders and those with lived experience to lend their voice, experience, and advice to the effort.
- Develop key performance indicators and metrics to measure, track, and analyze the impact and effectiveness of DEIBR training, programs, and initiatives.
- Assist the Director, DEIBR with specific projects and tasks as required.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- 3+ years previous Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) or DEI-related experience
- Demonstrated and practical understanding of racism and intersectionality, and differing elements of diversity such as identities including gender identity/expression, gender, race/cultural background, sex, religion, sexual orientation, ability/disability, immigrant professionals, family status etc.
- Demonstrated and practical understanding of systemic biases and barriers to workplace inclusion
- Experience in creating and informing dashboards and DEIBR reporting
- Highly organized, and strong attention to detail.
- Strong personal management skills, and able to problem solve under tight deadlines.
- Strong proven computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of metrics and analytics and make improvements as necessary.
- Manage results to ensure timelines, milestones and deliverables are met.
- Manage multiple initiatives related to company initiatives along with daily responsibilities
- In depth knowledge of practices, policies, processes and evaluation tools in DEIBR
- Demonstrates knowledge of current legislative and regulatory aspects of DEIBR (human rights, employment standards).
- Shows the ability and confidence to influence decisions using sound data to draw valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with previous experience writing organization wide communications, or policies.
- Proactive work style with the desire to own & execute tasks independently. A strong bias toward action and ownership of responsibilities.
- High emotional intelligence, with a proven ability to build trust.
