**Position Title**: Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Learning and Development Specialist
**Status**: FT Admin
**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week
**Department**: Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging
**Campus/Location**:North Campus
**Pay band/Salary**: Minimum Start: $83,292
**What you will do**:
Integral to the EDIB team, the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Learning and Development Specialist leads and facilitates activities that include (but are not limited to):
- Develop comprehensive EDIB strategic initiatives in alignment with the HLOs to further build capacity across the academic divisions, including modules, courses, and workshops, tailored to various levels within the organization.
- Integrate current EDIB research and emergent practices into the EDIB curricular and co-curricular programming to ensure it is relevant, effective, and evidence-based.
- Adapt EDIB learning materials to meet the specific needs of different academic departments or communities of practice within the college.
- Create a wide range of EDIB learning materials, such as handouts, PowerPoint presentations, and e-learning modules, to support the EDIB curriculum.
- Conduct EDIB training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels of the organization.
**What you bring to the role**:
**Education**
Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences, Education, or a related field with a focus on multicultural studies, social justice, or similar areas relevant to EDIB.
**Experience/Skills**
- Expertise in designing and revising academic curriculum to include diverse perspectives and inclusive content, particularly in the context of a Canadian college setting.
- Practical experience in teaching or facilitation, with an ability to convey complex EDIB concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
- Proven skills in organizing and leading workshops or seminars focused on EDIB topics, demonstrating the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Experience in creating learning materials that cater to diverse learning styles and needs, ensuring inclusivity in educational content delivery.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and technologies, essential for developing and delivering digital EDIB content.
- A track record of successful collaboration with faculty and academic departments to integrate EDIB principles into various disciplines.
- Experience in engaging with different cultural and community groups, incorporating their perspectives into curriculum design and learning activities.
- Strong research skills, especially in identifying and integrating current EDIB-related research and best practices into curriculum development.
- Ability to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of EDIB initiatives and learning outcomes, using feedback to continuously improve curriculum and teaching methods.
- Experience in advising on or contributing to the development of educational policies related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring they are effectively translated into curriculum and teaching practices.
