**What you will do**:
Reporting to the Manager of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) of Learning and Development, the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Strategist position will work in collaboration to guide institutional EDIB strategies to foster an inclusive learning, working and living environment. This role is central to developing and implementing comprehensive plans that address systemic inequities related to EDIB across all facets of the college. The strategist works collaboratively with various college departments, including Centre for Human Rights and Harassment, student services, and the academic division, to ensure EDIB principles are integrated into all aspects of college operations. A key objective of this position is to identify and dismantle barriers to advance equitable access for the broader college community. The strategist conducts thorough analyses of institutional policies and practices, recommending changes that promote EDIB. They also play a crucial role in advising individuals, teams and relevant departments on EDIB-related matters, ensuring the college's strategic decisions align with its commitment to inclusivity. The EDIB Strategist is responsible for fostering a culture of belonging where all employees of the college feel valued and empowered. They lead initiatives in collaboration with the EDIB team that educate and engage employees on EDIB topics, promoting understanding and respect for diverse EIDB perspectives. This role underscores the college's dedication to being a leader of EDIB, making it essential for driving long-term, impactful change in the institution's culture and ethos.

Integral to the EDIB team, the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Specialist leads and facilitates activities that include (but are not limited to):

- Develop strategies to implement the EDIB strategic plan aligning with the college's mission and goals.
- Conduct regular assessments of institutional policies and practices to ensure EDIB is adequately addressed.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate EDIB principles into college policies, processes and procedures.
- Identify and address systemic barriers to EDIB within the college community.
- Advise college employees, team, departments on emerging EDIB issues and recommended policy changes in collaboration with the Manager of EDIB.
- Establish benchmarks and metrics for evaluating the organizational effectiveness of strategic EDIB initiatives.
- Stay informed about national EDIB trends and best practices in higher education.
- Engage with a broad ranges of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and community members, to ensure EDIB perspectives are included in transformation plans.

**What you bring to the role**:
**Education**

Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Education, or a related field with a focus on multicultural studies, social justice, or similar areas relevant to EDIB.

**Experience & Skills**
- A degree in social sciences, education, human resources, or a related field with a focus on equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Completion of specialized training or certification programs in equity, diversity, and inclusion, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning in this area.
- Practical experience in creating and implementing policies that foster equity and inclusion within an organizational setting.
- Demonstrated leadership in initiating and managing EDIB programs or projects, showing the ability to inspire and engage others in these efforts.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities related to EDIB in the Canadian higher education context.
- Proven track record of effectively engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders, facilitating inclusive dialogues and partnerships.
