Payroll Administrator

Reporting to the Director, Finance and a dotted line to the HR Manager, the Payroll & HR Administrator is responsible for administering payroll each week for all BMG companies within the Boundary Mining Group. This role will support both the finance and human resource functions including handling employee personnel records, accounts payable tasks, and supporting recruitment and onboarding tasks.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process each company’s bi-weekly payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Tracking of time and attendance for employee holidays & vacations.
- Expense management including collection, data input and coordination with supervisors on approvals
- Maintain and update employee personnel files and work on the digitization of files.
- Carry-out onboarding tasks including coordinating with the manager & the new employee, collecting employee information, and setting up new hires in the Company’s payroll system.
- Use of ERP system to gather and collect information for review by division leaders
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll and HR operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
**Qualifications**:
- A degree, diploma, or certificate in payroll, accounting, or human resources is considered an asset.
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification is considered an asset.
- 1-3 years of experience running payroll.
- 3 years of administrative experience.
- Experience in recruitment or onboarding is considered an asset.

- Curious and takes an interest in learning the business to support continuous improvement in payroll & HR processes.
**Working Conditions**:
- Office setting with extended periods of sitting and use of a computer & peripherals.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break.
- Deadline driven role - requires strong time management skills.
- Confidential work environment, handling sensitive employee information and payroll data.
