SkyAlyne is a proud partnership between Canadian aviation and defence leaders, CAE and KF Aerospace, formed to provide a truly Canadian solution for Canada’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program, Canada’s next-generation military aircrew training program.

SkyAlyne has been selected as contractor for the FAcT Program. The program will be managed from the National Capital Region (Ottawa), with three operational locations: Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Southport (Portage la Prairie), Manitoba; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The scope of the FAcT Program contract includes all training and in-service support requirements needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers, and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators to meet the future aerospace requirements of the Royal Canadian Air Force. In collaboration with the Government of Canada and several major Canadian subcontractors, SkyAlyne will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology support, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more.

**Job Overview**

The Learning & Development Specialist is a key member of the People and Culture team, overseeing and leading learning and development initiatives for SkyAlyne, ensuring compliance to applicable legislation and supporting the professional development pathway. The Learning & Development Specialist will also support key learning and development initiatives for the Future Air Crew Training (FAcT) program led by SkyAlyne. Reporting into the Head of People and Culture, this role will also be responsive to the Head of Indigenous Relations and will work collaboratively with the Indigenous Relations team, as well as the FAcT program team and other key stakeholders.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Support the Head of People & Culture, and work closely with the senior leadership, and other key stakeholders to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive learning strategy that supports organizational goals and addresses employee development needs.
- Support the delivery of key learning initiatives.
- Overseeing and coordinating internship and other skills development and training programs to support the pipeline for key positions within the FAcT program.
- Partnering with educational institutes and other interest groups including but not limited to Indigenous Skills and Employment organizations, and Indigenous governments, communities and organizations as part of the key deliverable for the FAcT program.
- Coordinate and/or participate in relevant meetings and events to increase awareness about careers at SkyAlyne, the FAcT program and the aerospace and defense industry.
- Where appropriate, support the design and development of innovative learning programs, including workshops, e-learning modules, and cross-functional project experiences.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences. Ensure the effective delivery of learning content and encourage active participation from participants.
- Leverage digital tools to deliver, track, and manage learning activities efficiently. Stay informed of emerging learning technologies and trends.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze key data (KPIs, trend data, etc) to assess the ongoing learning and development program and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Lead the assessment, selection implementation, and oversight of the learning management system.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- University degree (preferably in Human Resources or Business) with minimum 5 years of learning and development experience with a minimum 2 years of experience in learning management system administration, including course deployment, content management, user support and reporting.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning technology trends.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful learning programs, including creating both online and in-person programs.
- Experience with content creation including development of e-learning modules, training, written guides, and other resources aimed to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Experience in designing and delivering and the learning and development plans that support the job architecture, skill development and career pathways.
- Experience in building a skill and competency inventory.
- Lived or professional experience working with Indigenous Peoples to enhance skills in support of job readiness is an asset.
