We are currently seeking a Learning & Development Specialist with a strong focus on onboarding and training coordination to join our Ottawa based team
**What will you be doing?**
- Onboarding support, assisting in facilitating the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive experience.
- Coordinate and schedule all training sessions for new employees.
- Coordinate and oversee both corporate and role-specific training programs.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and organize relevant sessions.
- Employee training records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of employee training activities and certifications, utilizing appropriate systems and databases.
- Reporting Training KPI’s.
- Design and implement new training systems across the business
- Work with IT and leadership in selecting and implementing an LMS system.
- Training content creation.
- Assist in the administration of policies by tracking policy reviews, ensuring employee acknowledgements, and facilitating necessary follow-ups.
- People and Culture program support, contribute to various People and Culture initiatives, such as engagement surveys, employee performance reviews, and other programs aimed at enhancing the employee experience at MMIST.
- HRIS administration, managing our BambooHR system, ensuring data accuracy, generating reports, and providing support to employees as needed.
- Assist in the administration of weekly vacation and flex time reporting, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
**What do we need from you?**
- Previous experience as a coordinator in a People or Training focused Human Resources role ideally in an engineering or aerospace environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (ideally BambooHR) and the MS Office suite.
- Strong understanding of onboarding processes, training coordination, and employee relations.
- Experience with implementing and improving HR processes and procedures.
- Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Professional certification such as Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is highly desirable.
