Toronto, Canada The Hazelton Hotel Full time

Selling an elevated experience is our goal. Your anticipation of every aspect of our guests’ experience are what set you apart, and the personalized service is at the core of what you aim to deliver daily. This position is responsible for booking Entertainment group and transient business. Prospecting, and outbound sales, are necessary for success in this position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Solicit new and repeat business, through prospecting, outside sales calls, site tours and entertainment, which enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue.
- Respond to sales leads regarding guest rooms and function space availability in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain weekly and quarterly calendars outlining tasks and goals set with the Assistant Director of Sales
- Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations.
- Analyze historical data for business on books and forecast to optimize revenue.
- Distribute timely and accurate information to all departments regarding contracted requirements and identified unique needs of groups, meetings and events.
- Conduct pre
- and post-conference meetings as appropriate
- Welcome event contact upon arrival at function and ensure guest satisfaction, promptly resolving any guest issues / complaints and ensuring a smooth execution of the event.
- Conduct post-event exit interviews and follow-up with clients to ensure guest satisfaction. Relay any pertinent feedback to all departments
- Plan and attend offsite sales trips to promote hotel within key market areas.
- Enhance the hotel's community's image by actively participating in associations, events, and boards.
- Assist in development of Sales Plan, Budget and Month End Reporting, as required.
- Attend all sales and public relations functions within the hotel.
- Ensure all billing procedures are followed as per the group/transient payment procedures and that all payments are settled with the hotel.
- Maintain high quality of service standards required by the hotel and adhere to company sales policies/SOPs.
- Work independently, with a positive attitude, within a small team.
- Complete all other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Hotel Management degree/diploma with 2 years of hotel sales and/or equivalent industry experience.
- Excellent interpersonal & organization skills.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 environment, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Ability to travel within and outside of Canada is required.
- Word and Excel, computer literacy required (Opera and Sales and Catering Software experience a strong asset).
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
