**Salary**: $2,345.14 to $3,076.28 bi-weekly ($61,208- $80,290 /year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
**Institutional Compliance Coordinator**

This position supports compliance reviews of secondary institutions to identify, determine and resolve cases of non-compliance with requirements related to the administration of student aid in alignment with the Pan Canadian Designation Policy Framework, Alberta and Federal legislation, Advanced Education's policies, procedures, contractual requirements under the Alberta Institution Designation Agreement (AIDA) contract, and the Private Vocational Training Act (PVT) and Regulation.
- The position assists in the creation of the annual repayment rate evaluation documents. This includes developing letter templates, determining which schools receive certain letter types, generating the letters and material for managerial sign off. Also maintains detailed listing of new, sold or closed institutions from information and coordination with other areas in the Ministry.
- This position has a variety of responsibilities that contribute to ongoing compliance to student aid legislation and agreements by post-secondary institutions that offer programs for which student aid funding can be received. This includes identifying and resolving compliance issues in consultation with the institutions.
- The incumbent exercises judgement within an existing set of provincial and federal legislation and agreements to: interpret legislation; independently conduct school inspections as needed and assess findings to determine legislative compliance; and, make recommendations for remediation of compliance and risk issues. There are multiple factors to consider in each compliance review and way to approach consultation with the institutions; remediation must comply with legislation and agreements, maintain positive relationships with institutions, and promote ongoing compliance.
- To inform the development of a comprehensive provincial student aid compliance framework, the incumbent works under the guidance of the Institution Compliance Specialist and team Manager to contribute to research that informs the development of recommendations. The Institutional Compliance Coordinator will also assist with suspected fraud reviews including gathering documentation and working with Federal partners under the guidance of Institutional Compliance Specialists.
Collectively, this work contributes to quality institutional administration of student aid and the protection of the government's investment in student aid. The position works within the provisions of relevant Student Aid legislation and regulations, policies and guidelines, which includes Alberta's commitment to the Pan Canadian Designation Policy Framework.**APS Competencies**:
