**Salary**: $2,513.34 to $3,310.25 bi-weekly ($65,598 - $86,397/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:

- The Regulatory Data Specialist is responsible for the collection, validation, integration, mobilization, and stewardship of regulatory data, including but not limited to industrial and municipal wastewater, air quality and soil data submitted to the ministry by regulated facilities operating within parameters set out in the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA).
- In this role, you will ensure regulatory data is well-governed, highly reliable, and effective in meeting business and regulatory needs, readily accessible and trusted. You will oversee this process, providing regulated facilities with essential information, tools, training and trouble-shooting support necessary to ensure high quality data is submitted to the ministry, partners, stakeholders and citizens in a timely manner.
- The Regulatory Data Specialist is frequently called upon to provide standard and custom information products, training, expert advice and consultative services. In this role, you will lead and participate in cross-ministry committees, initiatives and projects designed to improve the process as well as the underlying systems and supporting technical infrastructure, working closely with information technology (IT) service providers to maintain, improve and replace existing systems.
- **Responsibilities include**:

- Overseeing and coordinating the collection, validation, integration and mobilization of regulatory data.
- Ensuring high quality regulatory data and information is readily available to multiple stakeholders.
- Coordinating the quality control process for regulatory data programs.
- Leading and participating in business development and enhancement projects to improve access to water quality monitoring information.

**Agility**: Take a lead role in addressing telemetry problem/data requests and maintaining the water supply system during critical and urgent situations such as floor periods, ice jams and drought, as well as detect and pre-empt problems.

**Develop Networks**: Collaborate with other stakeholders on projects to enhance, develop, or revise water data systems to achieve higher efficiency on performance, reliability, and accessibility for the data.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- Two-year technical diploma in a scientific field.
- Minimum of four years related experience in data management, water chemistry, or computing science/engineering.

**Equivalences will be considered**: Additional related education considered in lieu of experience on a one-for-one basis.- For example: Related university degree plus two years of related work experience.

**Assets**:

- Knowledge of department business functions related to water assessment, water program design, water quality project implementation methods, water quality objectives and data interpretation processes.
- Strong understanding of EPEA, Water Act and associated Regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of wastewater and drinking water sample collection methods and scientific standards is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Microsoft 365, PowerBI and programming languages.
