Highlights of the job

We are hiring a permanent Specialist, Regulatory Compliance position working out of Edmonton, Alberta.

What you’d be responsible for
- Lead EDTI Transmission’s Reliability Standards Compliance Program.
- Develop compliance programs for various standards and / or modifying existing programs to meet new requirements and working with internal stakeholders to implement those requirements. Provide recommendations on budgeting & resourcing, as required.
- Collaborating with EPCOR Regulatory to develop EDTI Transmission’s annual Corporate Compliance Program. Promoting a culture of compliance by providing direction & supporting the annual Compliance Program to EDTI Transmission employees.
- Ensuring an understanding of EPCOR’s strategy throughout regulatory compliance, not only in area of responsibility. Leading various programs within the broader program.
- Reviewing reliability standards (CIP, COM, FAC, PRC, etc.) rules & requirements to determine applicability to EDTI Transmission’s current fleet, and potential development sites.
- Leading the Dynamic Compliance Risk process in the areas of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and non-CIP regulatory requirements, performing gap analysis on risk areas trending upwards and take corrective action to mitigate those trends.
- Working with internal stakeholders to develop an annual communication and training plan to ensure employees are aware of potential non-compliance risks and meet training requirements.
- Developing & conducting training on a regular basis on “hot topics” and / or areas of risk. Lead various training opportunities to ensure employees are aware of potential non-compliance risks.
- Leading investigations on non-compliance events, including conducting root cause analysis, and develop and implement plans to mitigate future occurrence. Providing recommendations to partner areas on resolving non-compliance events, as required.
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to ensure compliance requirements are met and coach various internal stakeholders on events, activities, and best practices to ensure compliance, as the need arises.
- Develop and maintain business unit KPIs for compliance related metrics. Participate in or drive cross-functional teams to design and maintain dashboards to support EDTI’s compliance posture.
- Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.

What’s required to be successful
- BS, BA, or BBA in economics or business management or BSc. in Engineering.
- Designation as a Professional Engineer would be considered a plus, but not required.
- 10+ years of work experience in the energy sector plus at least 3 years in a regulatory compliance role.
- Experience performing assurance work (audits/reviews), and business risk assessments
