**RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC**
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. **Position summary**
Under the supervision of the Finance Division Manager, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payment requisitions, expense claims and purchase orders and this in respect of the policies and procedures of the various granting agencies as well as those of the RI MUHC.

**General Duties**
- Validate and prepare submitted documents for processing,
- Communicate and follow up on incomplete documentation,
- Ensure documentation is in accordance with required procedures and policies,
- Record transactions to the accounting system,
- Validate where necessary to issued POs,
- Validate where necessary to shipping/receiving documentation,
- Ensure correct GL distribution,
- Ensure correct tax treatment,
- Maintain registers of follow ups and problem issues,
- Coordinate processing with other divisions where necessary,
- Respond to and follow up on queries from suppliers,
- Prepare journal entries where necessary,
- Participate in weekly cheque run,
- Participate in special projects,
- Any other accounting and office-related duties.

**Education / Experience**
- DEP in Accounting or undergraduate degree or equivalent,
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.

**Required Skills**:

- Bilingual (French and English, spoken and written),
- Very good general knowledge of basic accounting principles,
- High level of accuracy and autonomy, attention to detail and the ability to respect deadlines,
- Demonstrated resilience to see tasks through to completion,
- Ability to understand and maintain analysis schedules in Excel,
- Desire to offer excellent customer service and the ability to judge and appropriately communicate with tact and discretion,
- Comfortable in a high transaction volume, multicurrency environment,
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

**Additional information**

**Status** : Full-Time

**Pay Scale**: from $36,290.80 to $ 54,418/annum (35-hour workweek). According to experience and education

**Work Shift**: from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays

**Work Site**: Downtown Montreal, Hybrid
