**About the Role**
The Community Engagement Coordinator is an integral part of supporting the execution of strategic community programs to help us reach our mission. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to be involved in a range of tasks that advance our goals of securing funding, fostering relationships, and engaging with volunteers and donors. You will have a chance to make an impact in a non-profit organization that changes lives by building affordable homes in the Greater Vancouver area.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Event Coordination**
- Coordinate and support fundraising events, including Build Days, community outreach events, and third-party fundraisers.
- Work with event vendors, volunteers, and sponsors to ensure smooth event execution.
- Manage event logistics, including scheduling, promotional materials, and registration.
- Assist in the development and marketing of signature events, ensuring high levels of engagement and participation.
- Help manage post-event follow-ups, including thank-you letters, media outreach, and donor recognition.

**Volunteer Coordination**
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and managing volunteers for events, fundraising activities, and Build Days.
- Maintain volunteer records, ensure proper training, and track volunteer hours for recognition.
- Communicate regularly with volunteers to keep them informed and engaged with HFHGV’s mission and activities.
- Organize and manage volunteer appreciation activities, including recognition events and thank-you communications.

**Communications and Fundraising**
- Assist with the development and execution of fundraising strategies, including donor communications and donor stewardship.
- Manage communication channels, including newsletters, social media platforms, and website updates to keep donors, volunteers, and the community informed.
- Support the creation of fundraising materials, presentations, and reports to help advance our mission.
- Research and identify new funding opportunities and partnerships with local businesses and community organizations.

**General Responsibilities/**
- Support reporting on fundraising progress and event performance for senior leadership.
- Support the development of a donor database and ensure that donor information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide general administrative support to Society and ReStores as required.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Detailed oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences.
- Event planning experience with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a customer-service mindset.
- Passion for the mission of Habitat for Humanity and a commitment to making a difference in the community.

**Qualifications**
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, fundraising, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in communications, fundraising, event coordination, or volunteer management.
- Must be comfortable working with volunteers, donors, and community partners.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and other activities.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.

**Working Conditions**:

- Hybrid work environment with a combination of in stores, office and remote work.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events and donor meetings.
- Local travel within the Greater Vancouver Area to meet donors and partners.

**Pay**:Hourly rate: $20 to $25 plus benefits.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
