**Responsibilities**:

- Assist principal Lawyer and staff in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct legal research.
- File and organize legal documents and correspondence, daily.
- Maintain and update case files.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings.
- Prepare and proofread legal drafts and correspondence.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness files
- Provide administrative support to lawyer and staff, such as answering phone calls and managing calendars

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Proficient in legal research and writing
- Familiarity with legal document managment and paper filing systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability and willingness to work with interpreters and clients with various native languages for extended periods of time.

**Skills**:

- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Proficiency in using Lexis-Nexis or other legal research tools
- Ability to file and organize documents accurately
- Clerical skills for administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and managing calendars
- Research skills to gather information for cases or projects
- Administrative skills to assist attorneys with various tasks
- Organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
- Familiarity with iManage or other document management systems used in the legal field
- Knowledge of legal drafting techniques for preparing accurate and professional documents
- Attention to detail for proofreading documents for errors or inconsistencies
