**ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER - GROUP BENEFITS**

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) employs approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington and the City of Guelph. The UGDSB covers the ancestral and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

The Board is seeking a dynamic qualified individual for the position of Administrative Officer - Group Benefits. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Services Manager, this role will be responsible for the administration of the Board Staff Benefits plans. This is a **temporary, full-time** position to start as soon as possible until August 2nd, 2024 with the possibility to end sooner or extend beyond this date.

**SALARY**:$55,337.00 - $69,171.00 per annum; 35 hours per week

**BOARD INFORMATION**:1.0 FTE; 12 months; temporary; full-time; Administrative Employees

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Professionally communicates with benefits providers as required to ensure employee records are accurately maintained and assist with resolving administrative issues
- Manage Long-term Disability benefit premium deductions, including calculations as a result of employee salary changes
- Reconcile, prepare and submit all reports and/or remittances within the required deadlines
- Ensure timely and accurate entry and maintenance of the HRIS data which includes reporting new employees, changes and terminations to the benefits providers
- Support the Human Resources Team with member inquiries relating to the benefits
- Act as the backup for the Pensions Administrator
- Provide support for contract renewals and negotiations
- Other duties as assigned

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-Secondary Education (degree or diploma) in Human Resources and/or Benefits Administration CHRP designation would be an asset
- Knowledge of group benefits i.e. LTD, premium deductions, processing of leave periods
- Experience administering defined benefit pension plans and registered retirement saving plans
- Excellent computer skills and strong attention to detail with limited supervision
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel/Word); working knowledge of Google based products and/or SharePoint is an asset
- Proven analytical, problem solving, organizational, computer, mathematical, accounting and business skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide professional service to staff, pension board representatives and the Human Resources Department
- Self-motivated with proven ability to work independently
- Familiarity with a Human Resources database would be an asset as well as experience in database extractions converting to worksheets
- Experience in a unionized/school board/public sector organization would be an asset
