Position Summary:
The Communications Coordinator’s primary role is to create, maintain and distribute communications across the Corkin Gallery’s media channels including socials, website editorial content, and e-newsletter content. Additionally the role supports, compiles, edits and secures internal approvals of the exhibition notes.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Creating and maintaining communications across all of the Corkin Gallery’s social media channels to increase reach and engagement.
- Developing editorial content for Corkin Gallery’s and monthly e-newsletters.
- Updating Corkin Gallery’s media contacts and database.
- Drafting and editing media materials (e.g., press releases, media alerts, and fact sheets).
- Reporting on statistics and measuring the success of communications to support future strategy development.

- Works with freelancers to help develop communications content across various channels.
- Manages communications projects from end to end, including securing appropriate inter-departmental approvals.
- Supports various departments with copy editing and identifying story-telling opportunities.
- Decides which wording and imagery is appropriate to use for Corkin Gallery’s public-facing channels, and how to frame it within our style guide.
- Responds to posts and messages from high profile public figures and patrons, and to urgent, time-sensitive content.
- Shares photos and other content from events that accurately and professionally reflect Corkin Gallery and represented artists while respecting the privacy of clients and staff.
- Takes initiative and knows when to follow-up with a deadline. Asks questions to clarify understanding. Proactively identifies information gaps and proposes a course of action.

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree in Journalism/Communications, or equivalent
- Requires a minimum of 1 to 3 years work experience in editing and content storytelling.
- Some knowledge of compelling visuals, photography, and graphic design.

**Compensation**
- Salary is determined by previous experience.

**Working Conditions/Physical Demands**:
Work will be performed in-office.

Flexibility in hours and ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends when required (during exhibition installations and receptions) is part of the Communications Coordinator’s responsibility to capture communications materials, accompany photographers, and update social channels live.

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
