As an **Accounting Clerk**,you will playa crucial role in maintaining financial records and ensuring the smooth functioning of accounting processes. In addition to providing daily clerical support for the accounting team, you will be an effective and clear communicator (verbal and written) that values a team approach to support the accounting team AND firm personnel in their day-to-day activities and client support.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing clerical support to the accounting department and assisting with various tasks related to financial transactions and record-keeping.
- On a daily basis, entering disbursements for client files, accounts receivables and accounts payables into our accounting software with superior attention to detail to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assisting in the preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Preparing and handling bank deposits.
- Assisting and supporting other firm personnel to address accounting or documentation requests, issues and discrepancies.

**Requirements**:

- Accounting experience is an asset.
- MUST be fluent in English to communicate clearly with the staff and lawyers in the office - both oral and written.
- Customer/Client service experience is an asset.
- Legal background is an asset to understand legal terminology and structure of a law firm.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PDF editing and accounting software; legal software would be an added bonus.
