The Events and Communications Administrator position is responsible for organizing events and forums to support the objectives related to outreach, research, program delivery and evaluation for the Essential Skills for Employment project. The position will also support logístical organisation for events, internal and external communication, online community building and stakeholder outreach.

**ABOUT YWCA ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Create a detailed event plan that captures employment program activities laid out in the work plan and funder agreements;
- Assist in designing programming and administering employer engagement events while working closely with Employment Ontario staff;
- Assist with outreach events delivered by the Skills Development Centre that align with ESE goals;
- Assist in designing the program and administering logistics (e.g. book venues, rentals, speakers, vendors, seating arrangements, dietary requirements, etc.) for all employment focused forums and local, regional, and national events;
- Travel to local, regional and national events, as deemed necessary in conjunction with the Manager;
- Assist in planning, creating and designing outreach material for events and engagement activities;
- Actively promote YWCA ESE and other employment programs and resources by conducting outreach to relevant stakeholders (employers, community members, organizations, etc.);
- Assist in compiling resources and writing to develop Building Sustainable Futures Compendium and Toolkit;
- Contribute to writing and editing all ESE related content for newsletters, articles, advertising, annual reports, program materials, advisories and releases;
- Assist in writing and editing employment and Building Sustainable Futures related contents and documents (in written and electronic formats, social media) for internal and external communication in consultation with the Manager, Advocacy and Communications department and YWCA policies;
- Assist in branding the Toolkit and resources using graphic design software such as InDesign, Photoshop;
- Support activities related to media relations, copy writing, outreach and media campaigns for the Building Sustainable Futures and other employment programming;
- In curriculum timetabling, scheduling or workshops, gathering of statistics and record keeping activities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- In-depth knowledge of an academic or technical discipline normally acquired through courses leading to an undergraduate degree (e.g. communication, public relations, marketing, business administration, economics or another social science discipline) **(Cases For Equivalency will be considered);**:

- 3-5 years directly related work experience;
- Previous experience showcasing strong event management and communication skills necessary;
- Extensive knowledge of YWCA Toronto and other employment programming;
- Must possess excellent computer skills and advanced knowledge of Words, Excel, Adobe Master Creative Suite and InDesign;
- Good organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to details and proven ability to meet deadlines;
- Experience with employment related event planning is necessary;
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written;
- Operates in an environment that has mínimal supervision, requires high level of flexibility, adaptability and program solving skills and where considerable judgement and critical analysis needs to exercised regularly;
- Knowledge of French is an asset.
