Overview:
As an Event Production Assistant for the Toronto International Dance Festival, you will support the Festival Manager and play a pivotal role in the seamless execution of various festival activities. From logistics coordination to artist liaison, your contribution will ensure a memorable experience for performers and attendees alike.

**Responsibilities**:

- Logistics Coordination:

- Assist in organizing venue setup, transportation, and accommodation for performers.
- Ensure smooth logistics for all festival activities.
- Schedule Management:

- Help create and manage schedules for rehearsals, performances, and other festival events.
- Ensure timely execution and smooth transitions between activities.
- Communication:

- Act as a liaison between different teams, including performers, technical crew, and event organizers.
- Facilitate effective communication and information flow.
- Backstage Support:

- Provide backstage assistance during performances, including quick changes and addressing unforeseen issues.
- Equipment Management:

- Assist in managing dance props, costumes, and other equipment required for performances.
- Artist Liaison:

- Serve as a point of contact for performers, addressing their needs and guiding them through the festival schedule.
- Documentation:

- Help document the festival through photographs, videos, or other means for promotional material and archival purposes.
- Crowd Control:

- Assist in managing audience flow and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees.
- Emergency Response:

- Be prepared to handle unforeseen situations by understanding emergency procedures and assisting in their implementation.
- Problem Solving:

- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise, ensuring the smooth progression of festival activities.
- Collaboration:

- Work closely with the production team, volunteers, and other staff members to contribute to the overall success of the festival.

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of technical aspects of dance production.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Previous experience in event coordination or production assistance.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
- Positive and proactive attitude.

Preferred:

- Background in the arts or dance.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
