Commissionaires’ services over 200 sites and are in over 110 communities across the province. Our client base runs from the federal government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors, and commercial/residential buildings.

Based in our Vancouver office, and reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the **Human Resources Generalist** will support and work with HR team members, and the wider business to support and deliver progressive and inclusive human resources programs and initiatives aligned with the values and needs of the organization.

The position will be hybrid, working from home and the Vancouver office.

**Major Responsibilities**
- First point of contact for employees and leaders within your client groups regarding HR matters
- Advise and support your client groups regarding training and development, performance management, attendance management and ability management
- Providing support and guidance to the Operations team for human resource issue resolution including discipline, terminations, and performance
- Provide employee relations support and solutions using your knowledge of the applicable employment legislation
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR processes to support the business
- Participate in change management initiatives to drive a culture of a best in industry employee experience
- Participate in and support the C-BC Health & Safety program to ensure health and safety is top of mind for all employees
- Act as ambassador for the HRIS program and liaise with the business leaders for continuous improvement and streamlining of processes

**Education & Knowledge**
- **Education**: Post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent
- **Experience**: Two plus years of HR experience. Working towards a CPHR designation is an asset.

**Skills and Requirements**
- Knowledge of HR policies and practices, and related employment legislation
- Experience in employee relations, health & safety, performance development, employee engagement, attendance, and ability management
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple demands
- Possess diplomacy and tact required to deal effectively with all levels of employees in the organization, while building lasting relationships
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to maintain and exercise a high degree of discretion and confidentiality

**Required Security Clearances**
- Must consent to a Criminal Background Check
- Public Works Reliability Clearance (for eligibility reasons-must have resided in Canada for 5 or more years)
