**Human Resources Generalist**

**Location: Nevada OR Chicago**

**Full Time Permanent**

Drive an exemplary employee experience through aligning effective workplace relationships with HR practices.

This HR Generalist will have dual reporting to HRBPs representing two business verticals in BV Labs North America. This is a stand-alone role, supporting approx. 250-300 employees located across Alaska, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan and Texas. The role will be office based in Nevada OR Chicago.

**Employee Relations**
- Be the first point of contact on day-to-day HR related inquiries within assigned client group
- Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, programs and applicable employment legislation
- Respond to employee relations issues and concerns or escalate as needed in a timely manner
- Investigate and resolve employee disciplinary and grievance matters

**Employee Experience**
- Facilitate new hire onboarding: welcome communication, first day arrangements, new hire orientation, Weekly Meet & Greet, Conduct 15/30/90 day follow ups with new hires, communicate feedback with the hiring managers and escalate issues as needed
- Ensure probationary reviews and exit interviews are completed and feedback is shared with applicable parties
- Drive employee engagement, recognition and rewards programs

**Compensation and Benefits**
- Provide guidance to employees on benefits programs
- Liaise with the external agencies to process STD and LTD
- Provide unemployment claim information to Third Party Administrator

**Administration**
- Be a custodian for all things data - HRIS (SuccessFactors), HR trackers, employee records on PeopleDoc, periodic and ad hoc reports generation etc.
- Generate communication letters on behalf of the company - Offer letters, employment verification letters, employment change letters etc.
- Work closely with Payroll to ensure all HR updates are timely and correct - including timesheets

**Other Duties**
- Ensure protection of private information
- Adhere to Company’s safety policies and procedures
- Participate in enterprise wide HR Projects
- Support Talent Acquisition and client groups for hiring decisions
- Other tasks and duties as assigned

**Skills and Knowledge**:
**What skills and knowledge are used to carry out job responsibilities and solve problems?**
- Human Resources Certificate or equivalent post-secondary education
- HR Professional designation achieved or in progress an asset
- 2 to 3 years of experience in direct provision of Human Resources services (including employee relations)
- Knowledge of US Labor Laws a must
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material in a professional manner, using tact and discretion when dealing with people
- Excellent initiative, combined with planning, analytical and decision making skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook), and HRIS databases (experience working with SuccessFactors is an asset)

Work Relationships
- Internal: Assigned client group, Payroll, Finance, Benefits, broader HR department
- External: Drug screening/physical clinics for pre-employment screenings. TPA for STD/LTD claims.
