Corporate Controller

We are looking for the right finance professional to join Provident.
As the leader of our finance team, this position will maintain, manage, and analyze financial statements, payroll, budgets, tax compliance issues, and more. This role works cross functionally with all department leaders in operations, technology, sales & customer service.
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and detail-oriented leader who will ensure daily functions run smoothly while working to improve every aspect of our finance operation.
Reporting to our President and Founder, and directly managing two individuals, this role requires someone willing to fully embrace our core value of “there is always room for improvement”. We want someone to move us forward rather than simply maintain current processes.
Over the next eighteen months, we will be amalgamating two of our companies, consolidating Quickbooks and streamlining our finance operations. We need a hands-on leader to make it happen.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction in the daily management and control of the corporate finance plan;
- Record all transactions in accordance with GAAP in Quickbooks including imports from MAS and ADP;
- Monitors and forecasts financial performance including banking needs;
- Prepares or supervises payrolls in ADP for various payroll cycles;
- Monthly and year-end reporting, including forecasts;
- Supervises AR and collections to ensure financial needs are met;
- Works with scheduling and customer service to expedite client billing;
Key education, skills, experience:
- Bachelor’s degree combined with professional accounting designation (CPA or near completion)
- 6+ years of direct experience in finance & accounting, including cash flow management
- Demonstrated excellence in financial modeling and analysis in Excel/Google Sheets;
- Experience in providing accounting responsibilities for multiple companies and handling intercompany transactions;
- Understanding of RMR and implications;
- Experience with shareholder transactions;
- Thorough knowledge of hourly, salary and commission payrolls;
- Ability to translate and communicate financial information to those outside the finance department.
