**Position Summary**

The Assistant Coordinator, Indigenous Programming is a member of the Indigenous Engagement Team responsible for co-developing and co-creating content related to Indigenous Programming at the Calgary Stampede, including the Powwow, Elbow River Camp, and other activities. The Assistant Coordinator also oversees the Elbow River Camp Interpretive Program, responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting team members. Reporting to the Manager, Indigenous Engagement, the Assistant Coordinator will collaborate with colleagues in the Communications, Marketing, Programming, and Sponsorship divisions.

**Key Responsibilities**

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including an Advisory Group and Elders
- Coordinate with Sponsorship and Marketing to ensure branding and program elements are fulfilled
- Coordinate with Broadcast and Marketing teams to create video and virtual content relating to Indigenous Programming
- Liaise with Powwow Coordinators to plan scripting, video, and Sponsorship content during the event
- Recruit, hire, train, and schedule the Interpretive Program team of Elbow River Camp; support Supervisors in performance management and execution of daily activities during Stampede
- Work closely with Marketing and Communications teams to create new and revise existing Indigenous Programming content on website, social media, and other promotional materials
- Collaborate to develop and execute event activations and audience engagement
- Contribute to a final report

**Qualifications**
- Familiar with Treaty 7 First Nations cultural protocols and powwow protocols
- Familiar with the Calgary Stampede
- Strong communication (verbal and written), collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and administrative skills, attention to detail
- Experience creating media collateral, including but not limited to social media content, videos, story content, and audio clips
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation

**Terms of Position**
- This is a seasonal position from March - July, 2023 working between 20 and 37.5 hours per week
- Due to the event-based nature of this position, the majority of work will be completed in-office, on site at Stampede Park. There is some flexibility for remote work options on an approved basis.
