**WHO WE ARE**

The Hamilton Anti-Racism Resource Centre (HARRC) is committed to advancing education about race, racism, discrimination, racial equality, and anti-racist theory and practice in Hamilton. The organization provides workshops, local programing, events, and offers support services to the community. HARRC directly supports affected members of our community by receiving complaints about racism and referring complainants to appropriate community resources.

**THE POSITION**

Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED) of the Hamilton Anti-Racism Resource Centre, the Outreach Coordinator will provide support to the ED in the development, implementation, and administration of HARRC’s community workplan.

**OUTREACH COORDINATOR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Outreach and Community Engagement Tasks (60%)**
- Engage and develop local partnerships and assist in building community stakeholder relationships
- Develops and manages internal/external community events
- Meets regularly with stakeholders in the community to increase awareness and education regarding racism and discrimination
- Assists with workshop planning and development
- Identify and manage key audiences, issues and crises

**Social Media/Marketing Tasks (40%)**
- Ensure outreach projects align with organizational workplan and programing objectives
- Develop marketing and social media campaigns
- Expand HARRC’s social media presence

**Qualifications**
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Understanding of local trends and issues relating to racism and discrimination
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Experience with non-profits related to social justice, discrimination and racism
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Possess a passion for public advocacy and demonstrate an understanding EDI principals
- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in Social Work, Communications, Marketing, New Media, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, and Project Management
