The Drapery Manager must be strong strategically and operationally to drive productivity while maintaining and improving quality. He/she must also be a hands-on manager who cares about employee engagement, with experience in a people-intensive business and proven ability to mentor and develop people.
The Drapery Manager will be based in our Montreal facility, which manufactures and ships one thousand custom-made blinds and shades daily. Our 100,000 square feet plant employs more than 100 employees and services all of our showrooms, shop-at-home, and ecommerce. Through his/her integration and experience with us, the role of the Drapery Manager will expand as he/she will also have impact on the manufacturing of drapery across our other North American facilities.
**In your role, you will**:

- Monitor the achievement of production goals and support your team to help them understand how to solve the problem at source. _We don’t want a temporary solution_
- Identify improvement opportunities, coordinate the implementation of selected projects and create tools to simplify the day-to-day work of your teams. _You will need to work closely with the maintenance and IT team to ensure that projects move quickly and that we see real permanent change_
- Lead your teams by example and by knowing the products. _We want someone who understands draperies “inside and out”._
- Work with product development team and engineers to design and elevate our drapery line by introducing new techniques and processes. _Be a true partner to R&D team._
- Work closely with HR to help maintain a harmonious climate and keep an excellent retention. _You must help drive a strong promote-from-within culture._
- Be an ambassador of change. _You need to be seen as a person who improves the conditions of the people at the plant with a human approach._
**What we're looking for**
- Experience in management and in manufacturing drapery, in a production environment. _You have done this before_
- Care for developing and mentoring people in a production environment. _You love to see people grow and be part of such growth._
- Passion for developing and implementing projects. _You enjoy putting in place new processes by working with a cross-functional team_.
- Solid interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. _We are looking for a manager who will be influential rather than bossy_
- Have an entrepreneurial and team spirit. _Everything is to be built and improved, together_
- Bilingual
**We offer**:
- A competitive salary.
- A unique opportunity to have a real and lasting impact on production changes, across different plants.
- An environment where you can grow and take on more responsibilities.
- A talented and committed team (who want to learn from you).
- A unique culture focused on communication and internal growth.
- Several team activities to build strong bonds outside of the production madness (we know how we work hard during production hours).
