This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s best known building materials suppliers as the company embarks on a significant growth journey through new product launches & market penetration. As part of the Kingspan Group, Vicwest has an ambitious sustainability program revolving around the impact of building materials on the environment.
Position Summary
The Quality Coordinator reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of a quality management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and enter data and perform routine analysis for reporting quality performance and related activities
- Initiate and follow-up on corrective actions and verify internal compliance
- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with national quality audits
- Update QA logs and generate quality reports
- Implement and maintain QA manual and other quality documentation
- Assist and work with other departments to ensure QA policies/procedures are implemented and standards are being maintained
- Respond to quality related inquiries from internal and external customers
- Train new hires in quality procedures
- Assist in other quality assurance duties as directed and assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
Skill, Education, and Experience
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrates excellent communications, training and leadership skills; with proven project management talent
- Problem solving skills and capable of making decisions based on collecting and analyzing data
- Strong knowledge of lean tools and methods such as Five S, Six Sigma, Kaizen and root-cause analysis, certifications an asset
- Familiarity with ISO 9000, 14000, 43000 would be considered an asset
- Experience in construction products industry an asset
- Results driven to deliver value and cost savings
