This is an exciting time for NOVONIX as we build and grow our battery material and technology company to service the critical needs of the electric vehicle and energy storage supply chains. Our NOVONIX Battery Technology Solutions division, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, focuses on innovative battery research and development, along with providing advanced battery testing equipment and services on a global scale. In Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, our Anode Materials division manufactures our synthetic graphite anode materials used to make lithium-ion batteries which power electric vehicles, personal electronics, medical devices, energy storage units, and more.

**Role Summary**:
This person will report directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager. In the role of Recruiter, you will be joining a world-class Human Resources team that is delivering innovative solutions to tough problems. This person will be supporting the sites in Dartmouth and Bedford, Nova Scotia in a hybrid working environment. This position requires continuous collaboration with hiring managers to develop proactive recruitment strategies to meet staffing needs.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Partnering with hiring managers to strategize on hiring needs
- Building influential relationships with internal key stakeholders, such as hiring managers, HR business partners, COEs, and business leaders
- Leading full life cycle recruitment efforts (position opening through offer acceptance)
- Researching and forming strategic alliances with battery and scientific associations to add to the pipeline
- Monitoring market trends and providing data to the leadership team
- Leveraging external and internal talent data to best inform hiring managers, and guide them to make smart and inclusive hiring decisions
- Managing collegiate recruitment programs and partnerships, including attending career fairs and partnership events
- Working closely with the chamber of commerce and local organizations to assess and develop community engagement programs
- Helping to position NOVONIX as an employer of choice in the communities we operate in
- Supporting social media initiatives to enhance our employer brand
- Working on diversity outreach efforts to underserved communities, women, and minorities
- Conducting staffing needs assessment and supporting the organizational design and workforce planning as we look to grow
- Assisting in onboarding new hires and coordinating start dates for people to join the team in large cohorts
- Supporting talent programs (e.g. co-op) and measuring/providing accurate reporting of engagements and the effectiveness of these programs
- Being the backup to the onsite HR business partner when he/she is out
**You are**:
- A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- A professional with 5+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources, preferably as a technical recruiter or within the renewables industry
- Well-versed in the local Halifax market and have a good understanding of competitive salaries and awareness of companies that are downsizing/laying off
- Experienced in filling technical/scientific roles
- Experienced with the Canadian immigration process
- A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
- A skilled communicator and storyteller
- Passionate about continuous improvement
- Well organized and invested in the details
- Able to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
