Upper Canada Child Care is recruiting for a **Temporary HR Administrative Assistant** to work at our Head Office in Markham, ON.

This is a full-time (35 hours/week) position for a 12-18 month duration.

**Start Date**: Monday, June 05, 2023

**Annual Salary**:$45,446 - $55,545 plus full-time benefit package (including dental, health and travel insurance), paid personal days plus paid vacation time.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

To provide day-to-day administrative support to the People and Talent team and the broader organization in a range of human resources functions, including benefit administration and new hire set-up.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE**:

- Assist with the development and administration of HR programs, policies, and documents.
- Respond to enquiries regarding the organization’s benefit plan, new hire processing, employee files.
- Administration of employee benefit plan, including the set-up of new enrollments and the processing of benefit terminations; responds to manager and employee claims enquiries; reconcile monthly invoices to ensure changes are updated accurately.
- Administration of new hires, including employee set-up in the HRIS; liaise with payroll as required.
- Prepare letters of employment.
- Assist in the development and execution of employee onboarding and other training and development programs.
- Acts as backup to HR Generalist for recruitment activities.
- Preparation of employment agreements.
- Prepare reports as requested for HR metrics and data collection.
- Complete surveys and submit employment data to government departments.
- Prepare and copy personnel documents in response to requests from external parties, including legal and insurance representatives.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Post-secondary education in business administration, human resources, or related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant human resources or business administration experience.
- Experience with HR Information Systems an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
- A demonstrated ability to solve problems and think logically.
- Computer literacy, including experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365.

**WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT**
- Works in temperature-controlled office environment
- Almost all activities are of low physical effort
- Exposure to computer terminals
- Occasional driving may be required.
