Job Overview:

- Under the direct supervision of the campus store manager, responsible for data collection, reporting and coordination of activities related to merchandise and text purchases for the campus store.

**Duties**:

- Order books, textbooks and e-texts for Vanier College courses
- Order course materials for Vanier College courses
- Communicate with Chairs & faculty re: non-returnable books, research faculty requirements. Bookware 3000 orders of books and course materials, course material fees
- Evaluate and collaborate with Bookware 3000 support staff
- Bookware: update financial data changes: generate pricing, bar codes for cashiers' files, and shelf tags: trouble-shoot cash station problems
- Communicate with faculty, publishers and sales reps for special requests
- Consult with the sales reps re: prices, packages, availability
- Use judgement and past sales history to adjust and process book orders as needed
- Produce, verify and analyze various operational reports for accuracy, biweekly, monthly and annually
- Produce and verify report accuracy. ensuring budgets are invoiced correctly
- Process returns, compile outstanding credits, coordinate with accounts receivable re: recovery
- Coordinates cashiers and receiver
- Hire occasional staff and student employees
- Responsible for all staff, occasional staff, and student employees in absence of the Manager
- Responsible for all store operations in absence of the Manager
- All other related tasks required in the exercise of duties

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a bookstore or retail environment
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using computer systems for inventory management and sales tracking
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette
- Leadership skills to effectively manage a team of bookstore staff
- Sales experience or sales management skills are highly desirable
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus

Specific requirements:

- French intermediate oral, written
- English intermediate oral, written
- Knowledge of French an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer knowledge: MS Office [Excel & Word]. Bookware 3000, Clara Finance, an asset.
- High degree of accuracy required to operate Point-of-Sale Bookware 3000 System, an asset
- Ability to train cashiers and complete daily cash reconciliation.
- Willingness to train and learn Bookware 3000 software

Please note that all positions at our company are paid positions.

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$62,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
