**Procurement and Accounting Summer Internship**
**Note**: To be eligible for this role, you must be a student returning to full time studies in the fall or required to complete a co-op/internship in order to fulfill a program requirement.

What you can expect:
- The Procurement and Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in business areas such as contracts, negotiation, data integrity, and process improvement.
- The Procurement and Accounting Intern should be a result
- and performance-driven individual, who demonstrates these qualities with the ability to evaluate complex situations, be adaptable, have excellent time-management skills, willing to learn, and have a sense of ownership for the work they do.
**PROCUREMENT RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Load contracts into the Ariba database with the annual spend, start and end dates, corporate information, and link to the Canadian Procurement Projects List for 2024.
- Ensure that information is loaded to the Ariba software.
- Collect and analyze data from Requests for Quotation to assess the accuracy and integrity of bids; ensure that each bid compares “apples to apples”; use Excel to track the quotes and assess which is most beneficial.
- Assist in collecting information and updating quotes.
- Be willing to support the Canadian Procurement Manager for ad-hoc requests.
- You will learn what Procurement does and how it interfaces with every department.
**ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist with the month end financial close
- Monitor, collect and analyze data to assess accuracy and integrity of financial records; ensure compliance with local and global standards (GAAP), regulations, and systems of Assist with the month end financial close

- Assist in managing, researching, and resolving any finance and business issues that may arise
- Be willing to support internal and external Finance and Operations department ad-hoc requests that would include cross-functional dialogue
**BASIC REQUIREMENTS**
- 2nd or 3rd-year University student working towards the completion of an undergraduate degree (accounting, business, finance, or related discipline preferred). Must be returning to school in the Fall.
- Advanced analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Able to work with diverse, cross-functional teams and build relationships.
- Able to work on multiple projects concurrently and follow up on actions/ issues.
**ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ PREFERENCES**:
- Previous experience in accounting or procurement is an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word
