The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada has an exciting new opening for a full-time Administrator for Villa St. Joseph Ecology and Spiritualty Centre (the Centre) in Cobourg, ON.

The Administrator will oversee and manage the operations of the Centre influencing a welcoming and hospitable environment conducive to the well-being of retreatants and guests consistent with the charism and values of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada. The Administrator will work closely with the Director of the Centre and the Team members. The position requires that the Administrator is knowledgeable and experienced in ecology and spirituality

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Commits to the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada as it is expressed through the evolving ministry of the Centre.
- Provides a welcoming and hospitable presence to all guests of the Centre and, during retreats, maintains a quiet environment.
- Manages human resources matters in consultation with the Congregational Director of Human Resources and reports these matters to the Director of the Centre, as appropriate.
- Responsible for the coordination of day-to-day activities of the Centre including overseeing the work of housekeeping and maintenance staff in consultation with the Director of the Centre.
- Develops and presents, in consultation with the Villa Team, to the Congregational Leadership Circle (CLC) contact Sister, the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Coordinates the local budgetary process in consultation with the Director of the Centre.
- Accountable for ongoing compliance with the approved budget.
- Coordinates the purchases of goods and services, as required for the effective operation of the Centre as per the procurement policy and ensures that purchasing has environmental and justice integrity.
- Prepares for the safety and security of the building and occupants and ensures that the Fire Safety, Occupational Health and Safety and the Emergency Measures Plans are adhered to and recommends updates as required.
- Convenes and participates in meetings of the Advisory Committee of the Centre.
- Convenes and participates in monthly team meetings.
- Carries out administrative and office related functions including answering the phone, taking registrations for retreats and programmes, taking prayer requests, and welcoming people coming to the Centre.
- Implements evaluation of programmes for the purposes of ensuring the comfort of guests and for future planning at the Centre.
- Orients, animates, and takes part in the training of casual staff and volunteers in conjunction with the Director of the Centre and with the Director of Human Resources.
- Participates in programs in the house and garden as appropriate and needed.
- Working with the Community Garden Team to ensure the smooth coordination and operation of the gardens.
- Responsible for maintaining the library including coordinating donations, making purchases, and refiling books used.
- Takes part in the annual planning and marketing of programmes for the Centre in conjunction with the Villa Team. Ensure an awareness of what other Retreat Centres in Ontario are offering and a basic knowledge of their spaces.
- Coordinates the calendar of events with the Villa Team.
- Prepare a quarterly newsletter, in coordination with the Villa Team, inviting guest writers and ensuring the timely distribution of the newsletter.
- In the absence of the Villa Team ensures the coordination of prayer services and spiritual direction as necessary engaging those with experience and training in doing for these functions.
- Maintains and updates the website and social media.
- Builds positive relationships with the local churches and community.
- Serves as a team member for overnight/on-call contacts.
