The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario - Your Health Space supports health care organizations across Ontario to improve mental health in their workplaces through live workshops and self-directed modules. It embraces the holistic view that psychological health and safety in the workplace takes the collective effort of individuals across an entire organization. The program is offered to leaders, health care workers, and support staff working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home and community care settings. Through this program, health care workers can learn to recognize and manage symptoms of chronic workplace stress and connect with colleagues through facilitated discussions.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Program Manager, Your Health Space, the Evaluation and Data Coordinator will support the Your Health Space program by collaborating with the Program Manager and external academic stakeholders in the evaluation of program performance, including the oversight of data collected from program activities and improving the use and understanding of performance indicator data for the purposes of quality improvement, performance management, and strategic planning. The incumbent will ensure equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) will be at the core of program evaluation work and demonstrate familiarity with health equity principles.

The Evaluation and Data Coordinator will be responsible for the technical and methodological work to support our program and evaluation team in developing and measuring key performance indicators on the performance of the Your Health Space Program in healthcare organizations. In particular, the incumbent will be asked to support and/or guide processes associated with assessing data quality, data analysis and interpretation, indicator development and measurement, and reporting to CMHA Ontario, CMHA Branches across the province, Ontario Health, and to the Ministry of Health.

Core Responsibilities

Evaluation:

- Leads the prioritization, development, and collection of outcome indicators for the Your Health Space Program
- Supports YHS Program Manager and Program Director with performance measurement and data quality measures to capture relevant and meaningful information for the continuous assessment and data-led quality improvement
- Aligns program measures and data collection with the requirements of the Ministry of Health and other relevant stakeholders
- Uses and/or develops evaluation approaches with a health equity lens
- Coordinates program evaluation planning, analysis, and implementation in partnership with external evaluation team/researchers
- Supports the Program Manager in implementing regular reporting processes to support agency and funder requirements
- Provides leadership on program Quality Improvement activities by collaborating with CMHA Ontario’s Quality Improvement (QI) team

Data:

- Coordinates the collection and management of large amounts of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods data (e.g., protocol development, survey development, interview and focus group guides, data storage and quality assurance, coding, analyses, data visualization)
- Continuously monitors, evaluates, and improves data collection processes
- Regularly analyzes and summarizes data related to program evaluation as well as administrative data for reporting requirements and quality improvement
- Responds to requests for evaluation analysis and performance indicators (defined and endorsed by CMHA Ontario, CMHA branches, the provincial government, Ontario Health’s Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence, and relevant working groups) by preparing clearly written standardized reports

Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in a health science, social science, or related discipline with coursework in research methodologies, statistical analysis, and evaluation is preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in related research/evaluation/decision support in mental health, public health, community health programs, acute care, or other health services required
- Familiarity with provincial directions in Mental Health and Addictions reform and quality improvement (e.g. the _Model for Improvement_) in Ontario is required
- Experience managing projects and managing multiple tasks within established timelines in a team environment is an asset
- Excellent data collection, analysis, and reporting ability in the mental health and addictions sector, or broader community and social services sectors, is required
- Familiarity with survey design and implementation is an asset
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., PowerBI, Visio) and developing narrative and key messages base
