To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a Project Consultant to support our Space Operations Department

The Project Consultant will work with the user group; to initiate and plan projects, perform financial activities, prepare schedules and specifications; assist in the procurement of changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, contractors and subcontractors; hire and monitor the activities of contractors, subcontractors and/or trades people; work closely with users to ensure the completion of all related Information elements for the projects (existing and new), including a plan and timeline for procurement and relocation; assist in decant planning and implementation; work with the Capital Development team to establish implementation plans and impacts to patients and employees during construction.

Responsibilities include:

- Implement and manage a variety of projects assigned by the Manager, or Project Managers
- Develop requests for information/qualification and requests for proposal documents to secure consultants for a wide variety of redevelopment projects
- Support the scheduling and coordination of planning meetings with department representatives, consultants and required team members
- Coordinate, schedule and organize meetings, including meetings involving groups with membership external to Sinai Health, as well as various project committees
- Perform quality management and administrative activities to ensure the efficient operation of the department
- Support Project Managers in obtaining user input and feedback through User Groups and individual consultation to ensure user perspective is understood and represented in all aspects of project design/development and implementation
- Assist in the synthesis of user input and feedback to ensure gaps, impacts, or areas of overlap are identified and addressed through the appropriate forum to minimize impact on the outcome of the project
- Participate in the review, analysis and evaluation of drawings, specifications and tenders and provides input to recommendations to ensure contracts are awarded to qualified, cost effective, and knowledgeable contractors/vendors
- Assist in the execution of staging and relocations resulting from renovations, ensuring mínimal interruption of day-to-day operations and mínimal impact to patients, families, staff, physicians and visitors
- Ensure that all contractors have appropriate documentation and approval to undertake work
- Maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders, contractors, consultants and others on projects
- Assist Managers in communicating project results to the Director, project sponsors, and key stakeholders, and make recommendations to project stakeholders (as appropriate) regarding the long-term implementation of project initiatives based on learning gained during the project lifecycle
- Works with the hospital procurement to ensure that all projects comply with procurement guidelines outlined in the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive (BPS) and identified by the hospital, and all applicable building codes
- Works closely with all project teams to coordinate planning to meet common milestones, ensuring facilities alignment and preparedness
- Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement to measure, monitor and assess effectiveness and potential adverse effects of delivery of service to optimize improvement in services and prevent risk
- Contributes to organization-wide compliance with all safety codes, infection control, health and safety, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Performs other duties related to the position as assigned
- Develops, monitors, controls and reports on project’s component budgets and schedules
- Liaises with project users (clinical and non-clinical) and other stakeholders to ensure needs are addressed and issues are resolved to meet project objectives
- Ensures timely identification of issues and communication of project status to users and stakeholders, including but not limited to information concerning schedule, risk management, and other issues affecting the project; facilitates timely decision-making
