Reporting to the Director of the Mental Health & Addictions Centre of Excellence (MHA CoE), Planning, Performance, Operations and Engagement (PPOE), the Manager will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and will be responsible for the development and oversight of the data, analytics and measurement strategy within the CoE. The Manager will facilitate and coordinate program initiatives in close partnership with other areas of Ontario Health (e.g., Digital Excellence in Health, Legal, Privacy, Analytics, and Informatics Division), as well as people with lived experience, experts, providers, and other sector stakeholders. The manager will contribute their health care measurement and evaluation expertise, strategic thinking, and collaborative working style to produce high-quality, actionable measurement frameworks and analytics for quality improvement, planning and other data-driven and evidence-based decision making to improve patient outcomes, provider experience and value and equity in the health care system. As a manager, this role is responsible for recruiting and retaining high-caliber Senior Analysts and data experts, setting expectations, allocating work, overseeing, and ensuring the quality of outputs and scheduling and prioritizing work.
- Here is what you will be doing:
- Drive development, implementation and management of the MHA CoE data and digital strategy and ensure alignment with performance reporting, funding, and planning with clinical best practices-
- Support the development and successful delivery of key analytic and reporting products for quality improvement, planning and evaluation, and MHA care system performance, in addition to the development of briefing notes, presentations, reports that may accompany analytics products-
- Identify best practices, deficiencies, corrective actions and make recommendations for improvements in processes, policies, and procedures-
- Manage and oversee all aspects of data analysis and reporting including developing analytic plans, supporting with data collection, manipulating, and extracting data, producing reports, and creating documentation-
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the planning, implementation and tracking of projects-
- Liaise with clinical leads, program, and project teams to develop a deep understanding of the MHA CoE’s programs and initiatives to ensure high-quality measurement and evaluation plans are in place and aligned with the Centre’s strategic objectives-
- Participate in the broader Ontario Health Analytics Community, contributing content, ideas, or identifying areas for development or strategic advancement-
- Foster positive, productive and creative partnerships between the MHA CoE and key internal stakeholders including Analytics & Informatics, and Program Evaluation, as well as Regional Programs and key external partners and the Ministry of Health-
- Collaborate with Planning and Regional Programs to ensure the alignment of measurement plans with funding models and the MHA CoE performance management framework-
- Provide leadership and expertise in analytic methods, data visualization, and stakeholder communication-
- Have up-to-date knowledge of the MHA data, indicator methodology and reporting requirements to successfully implement the analytics projects-
- Build capacity for the MHA CoE by recruiting and supervising a small team of experts, and by increasing knowledge and skills of the broader MHA CoE team through education, coaching and mentoring-
- Ensure governance, roles and responsibilities are clearly articulated on data analytics projects-
- Build and maintain strong respectful relationships with stakeholders, staff, and senior leadership-
