Referral /administrative Coordinator

We are a busy medical clinic that provides in-clinic primary care for patients within the Lincoln community. This position requires the ability to perform day-to-day duties for a high-patient volume clinic.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing referrals, patient appointments, organizing medical records, appointment booking, answering phones and providing excellent customer service to our patients.
**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care as needed
- Communicate with other healthcare providers to ensure referrals have been received
- Receiving/requesting referral information, patient demographics and other clinical data.
- Electronically filing clinical documents in the electronic health record.
- Determines appointment priority by evaluating patient information such as patient history, test results and pertinent reports.
- Organizes and maintains a system for review of referrals by identifying concerns to physician/clinical staff as required and placing the referral in the designated area for review.
- Schedule, book and confirm patient appointments
- Fax triaging and maintaining/reporting wait times including patient volume
- Greet Processes written or verbal instructions from triage physician, including activities such as initiating requisitions, requesting bookings such as diagnostic imaging, completing forms, and requesting additional documentation.

- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
**Requirements**:
- Medical Office Assistant Diploma or Certificate (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office setting (required)
- Experience working in a large group practice with multiple providers and complex schedules (preferred) or specialist/hospital settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records, including clinical EMRs (TELUS PS suites preferred) or Hospital EMRs, Oceans referral/econsults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Experience**:
- Medical office: 3 years (required)
- Electronic Medical Records or Hospital System: 3 years (required)
- Specialist office/hospital: 1 year (preferred)
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: $21.00-$22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
