Junior Buyer

**Position Overview**:
This position is responsible for assisting in the overall sourcing and requisition of incoming products, materials and services for the facility.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Monitor purchasing quantity thresholds, adjusting for economic order quantities for all materials to ensure availability of product during the manufacturing process.
- Initiate, issue and administer purchase orders through predetermined procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers with respect to shipments and inbound logistics for materials.
- Execute purchase order management and price management.
- Administration of purchase orders including expediting or orders, reviewing of progress, invoice reviews and validations, as well as entries and updates within the purchasing system.
- Analyze current and historical inventory and sale performance and make appropriate recommendations and adjusting replenishment factors.
- Communicate with Sales, Accounting, Manufacturing and Health and Safety pertinent information regarding vendor requirements.
- Review the Material Planning Report in Visual Manufacturing daily to confirm product release dates.
- Understand, participate and comply with Span Medical Product’s Health and Safety Program.

**Qualifications, Skills/Abilities**
- Post-Secondary education in Supply Chain Management.
- A minimum of 2-5 years related experience.
- Analytical, critical thinking and process oriented.
- Attention to detail, high sense of urgency and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills with all departments and levels of supervision.
- Experience in Visual Manufacturing an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
