We are looking to hire a motivated and passionate professional chef to help us manage the kitchen and the staff at the Columbus Centre. **Knowledge of Italian cuisine and techniques is mandatory.**

Food at Boccaccio is made fresh, with Italian and local ingredients, following classic and regional Italian cuisine recipes. We use only fresh pasta and the best quality ingredients to ensure top service and unique culinary experiences. We also want to be a Slow Food restaurant follwing Good-Clean-Fair practises and be the best and first fully suistainable restaurant in the City.

The Head Chef reports directly to General Manager and Executive Chef. You will cook and prepare a variety of food products including the mains of meats and seafood, appetizers, vegetables, sauces, and other food products in classic Italian & Regional cuisine using a variety of equipment and utensils according to kitchen protocol and standards.

Key Accountabilities
- Design and work on a recipe book, including dining, brunch, happy hours, and other special occasions.
- Ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with pre-set recipes.
- Ensure food quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products.
- Scheduling staff and placing food orders.
- Prepare and follow a daily prep sheet to indicate levels on hand and amounts required.
- Prepare an inventory stocking sheet on a weekly basis.
- Cook and support for all events and banquets ran by the company partner Chef Luciano Schipano ltd.
- Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.

Skills and Abilities
- Passion for fresh ingredients and producing great food every day.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must work well within a restaurant team culture.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision and have a strong initiative.
- A positive and team-oriented attitude.
- A minimum of 5 years ‘experience in a similar role is required and any technical training will be highly desirable.

**Salary**: $52,600.00-$56,400.00 per year
