**Job description**
Hello all, we are looking for a reliable Cook with great knife skills to join our team (meal prep company).
Duties and responsibilities:
- Would be required to cook in batches or large quantities
- Assist the head chef by preparing vegetables/proteins
- Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment at all times
- Gather food ingredients from the refrigerator or freezer as required by the chef
- Ensure food is stored away properly when not in use
- Study the menu and prepare ingredients ahead of schedule
- Learn about the cooking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen
- Support the kitchen team whenever needed.
- MUST be a Team player and be able to multitask in the kitchen.
- Should be willing to do packaging work as part of job requirements (training would be provided).
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a cook in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety and hygiene
- Passionate about culinary arts and creative cooking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances
- Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
- Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time
- **4-Day Work Week (Day Shifts)**:
- **Shift days are every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday**
**Start Times**
Mondays - 9:00 am
Tuesdays - 6:00 am
Fridays - 9:00 am
Saturdays - 6:00 am
- **Average of 35- 42 hours per week**
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $47,000.00 per year
