Boundless Vancouver organizes The Salvation Army Boundless Vancouver Christmas Toy Shop for children and families. The Christmas Volunteer & Donation Coordinator works on our team to recruit, schedule, and organize our volunteers and procure and coordinate donations for the Toy Shop and various toy drives.

**Hours**:

- Temporary Full Time: Nov. 1 to Dec. 23, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Volunteer Coordination**:

- Works in conjunction with and in support of The Christmas Toy Shop by defining, promoting, and managing volunteer opportunities.
- Recruit, screen, register & orient appropriate volunteers to fill positions.
- Process necessary paperwork, including Criminal Record Checks and volunteer agreement packages.
- Deploy volunteers to positions relevant to their interests and skills.
- Help orientate and supervise volunteers while they are deployed to their positions.
- Keep thorough records of volunteer information and hours of service for statistical purposes.

**Donation Coordination**:

- Work in conjunction with and in support of Christmas campaigns, identifying financial and in-kind donation needs for Christmas distribution.
- Solicit financial and in-kind donations and correspond in a timely manner with individuals and corporate donors in the community; organize toy drives with companies and organizations in the community.
- Coordinate drop-off and pick up schedule with donors and driver(s).
- May collaborate and help coordinate with divisional team for toy drives.
- Relay donated items to the appropriate personnel for proper storage and distribution, as needed.
- Keep thorough records of donor information and donated items/amounts & maintain a positive relationship with donors.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education / Certification**:

- Post-secondary education and work experience in fund-raising, donor relations, public relations, or administration.

**Experience**:

- One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience, including experience working in customer service-related fields.

**PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES**:

- Excellent organizational skills
- Superior relationship building skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels in a confident, collaborative, and professional manner.
- Proven ability to multitask.
- Work independently; demonstrated self-starter and team player.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in person and on the phone and excellent written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn new software quickly and teach others, prior experience with Salesforce is an asset.
- Proficiency in other language(s) is an asset.
- Be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and driver’s license an asset.

**Exposure to Hazards**:
The job incumbent may be exposed to the risk of minor harm, injury, or illnesses due to:

- Driving and moving of physical inventory
- Verbal or physical attacks by others (i.e., violent/aggressive neighbour)
- Exposure to infectious diseases

**Required**:

- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- Completion of online Praesidium Academy Abuse Prevention Training and required Health and Safety training.
