Benefits and Payroll Administrator

The **Benefits and Payroll Administrator** will be responsible for administering benefits and savings plans for our Canadian and US divisions, assisting with HRIS record maintenance and verifying payroll information.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Determine employee eligibility for benefits, ensuring correct communication is provided to employees
- Process benefit enrolments, changes, reinstatements, and terminations
- Liaise with the insurance providers as needed to follow up on specific issues
- Manage all short-term disability and long-term disability claims
- Manage legislated and company provided leaves and administer group benefit changes based on company guidelines
- Calculate monthly premiums payable and prepare remittances for insurers/providers
- Report, calculate and remit Pension, Savings Plan and ESPP contributions to providers
- Monthly group benefit account reconciliation
- Assist payroll team with Daily Rig and Downtime ticket review
- Request and verify payroll information submitted by departments
- Assist with employee new hire, rehire and termination paperwork, as well as personnel file maintenance (hard copy and electronic)
- Respond to employee requests from the Payroll Help Line and the Benefit Help Line, providing excellent customer service and guidance on benefit and payroll related issues
- **Additional duties of a similar nature, as assigned**
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience working in benefits and/or payroll administration preferred
- Post secondary education in a related field
- Experience with US benefit and savings plan administration considered an asset
- Experience with large volumes of pay processing in a multi-provincial environment
- CeDayforce considered an asset
- Excellent customer service background
Skills & Knowledge:
- Effective problem-solving skills, ability to organize and prioritize workload with flexibility
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
- Strong Microsoft office skills
- Ability to promote a positive, cohesive team environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Ability to work weekends or general holidays when required
