**SCOPE**
Reporting directly to the Manager, Pension & Benefits and functionally to the Senior Advisor, Benefits, the incumbent provides a high level of customer service to the University community pertaining to leaves and related benefits.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Monitor information received for compliance with University policies procedures, guidelines and protocols and provide explanation/information to employees and/or managers, as appropriate.
- Maintain, enter and verify data in the HRIS system
- leaves, benefits, cost distribution centers - and the payroll system S4 for employees on leave. Ensure that the data entered is accurate.
- As a resource person, provide information about guidelines, procedures, policies and protocols and relevant government rules and regulations to the University Community.
- Liaise with appropriate resource persons and/or external providers to investigate data discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Triage and prioritize incoming medical certificates to Disability Management or Medical Accommodation; ensures adjudication and follow-ups are completed in a timely manner using established trackers and tools.
- Assist employees with inquiries regarding leaves and associated group insurance plans.
- Compile and prepare reports and procedural documents pertaining to leaves.
- Assist the Benefits Specialist on tasks and special projects as required.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of internal processes and update internal documents as needed.
- Perform other various administrative tasks according to the needs of the unit.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (3-year technical program) in field related to the primary responsibilities and four to seven years of experience, with at least two years of client service experience in a HR Benefits department.
- Good knowledge of group insurance and payroll.
- Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French to communicate with employees, to compose and proofread correspondence and to advise Faculty and Staff personnel about university policies.
- Detail oriented and ability to be accountable for data integrity.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Adaptable to change and open to new ideas.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with proven experience working with the public.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment.
- Genuine interest and desire to assist with customer service and problem solving.
- Prior experience in a university environment is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of the University’s HRIS system, or other recognized major HRIS System, is highly desirable.
