**PASS - Human Resources Assistant II, CUPE***

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

**General Description of Duties**:
Reporting to the Human Resource Services Officer accountable for CUPE Staff, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:

- Responsible for assisting in the processing of collective agreements, HR information maintenance, and staffing for CUPE staff as instructed by the Human Resource Services Officer.
- Processing information with deadlines to payroll through an integrated HR/payroll system.
- Maintaining staffing lists for specific job classifications and providing support to administrators and other supervisory staff within the organization.
- Follow up on statutory requirements related to Vulnerable Sector Criminal Background Checks (VSCBC) and Offence Declarations and mandatory training.
- Respond to inquiries and requests for leaves identified in the collective agreement.
- Maintain databases and electronic files and preparation of correspondence.
- Assist with new employee presentations and orientations.
- Assist with CUPE transfer processes.
- Monitor, process and review SmartFind profiles, reports and statistics.
- Carry out ad hoc research projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
- Other duties as assigned.

**M **inimum Requirements**:

- 2 Year College Diploma in Human Resource Administration, Business/Secretarial or equivalency of Human Resource Certificate with related experience or experience in a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years previous experience in a professional office environment.
- Knowledge and experience in HR processes and policies.
- Superior Computer Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal),
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical thinking and customer service commitment.

**Salary Range**:Level 2, $55,555 - $65,361 per year in accordance with the PASS Terms of Employment

**Hours of Work**:Full time: 35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year
