Reporting to the Director, Learning & Development, this role manages NWMO's training and development program which delivers performance-focused solutions and creates strategies to achieve measurable improvement in individual, team, and organizational performance. The Manager, Training & Development will partner with key business functions and participate in organizational projects to deliver training and development strategies in support of key organizational goals.

**Responsibilities**:
In this role, you will manage NWMO's Training Program:

- Manage the training budget, establishing and monitoring training metrics, reviewing, improving and launching processes and tools.
- Manage and oversee the training development process including conducting training needs analysis and identifying potential solutions including in-house development and/or procuring training services.
- Champion training elements of strategic planning activities to ensure training and development needs are identified. Develop plans, as required, to meet project goals and milestones.
- Act as a training lead for organizational projects and teams; identifying and addressing any training needs that may arise.
- Manage training programs that are delivered by third-party vendors; work with internal clients to research and recommend external programs, sourcing, negotiating, selecting and awarding contracts to vendors through a competitive procurement process.
- Manage the organizational Learning Management System (LMS) and other training tools and systems, as required.
- Manage post-training activities including learner feedback, program pilots, audits and assessments to support continuous improvement of the training program.
- Interface with outside agencies such as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) as it relates to training program development and management.
- Supports organizational succession planning activities and coaching and mentoring programs.
- Manage staff and team development work to include: partnering with business leaders and Human Resources to support individual and team development to close gaps, foster development and/or improve performance; integrate insights and outcomes of talent review processes into development plans and programs; develop, lead, facilitate the delivery of workshops and other interventions as appropriate; manage and/or administer development tools such as assessments or other psychometrics; provide support to organizational culture and change initiatives and represent the NWMO as the training and development representative for various external forums, committees or conferences.

Qualifications and Experience
- 4 year university degree in Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, business/human resources management or other related field of studies. Training and knowledge in adult learning principles, certifications in psychometric tools, change management methodologies, and e-learning development experience would be considered assets.
- A minimum of 7-10 years' experience; with progressive development from training design and delivery to training program management.
- Experience in managing a training program; creating and managing governance and metrics; managing interfaces and forums to identify and assess training needs; managing a learning management system; managing organizational qualifications; managing training records and managing training audits, self-assessments and improvement efforts.
- Experience in designing, developing and deploying training solutions. Must have experience with the development and deployment of e-learning courses as an asset.
- Experience curating training solutions from the marketplace.
- Experience working and leading in a Nuclear-based organization is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with managing or establishing training programs consistent with the Canadian Nuclear Regulatory requirement is an asset.
- Experience in leading individual and group staff development processes.
- Experience in leading change initiatives is preferred.
- Experience participating in cross functional teams and managing projects is an asset.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills required.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills are key requirements of the role in order to work effectively with staff at all levels in business functions across the organization and with external training and development services providers.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills is essential and experience presenting to senior leadership and large groups.
- Superior listening, collaboration and solution development skills are required.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
