As a Walkway Supervisor, you will bring the Heeman’s brand to life in our Walkway by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining inventory and brand standards. The Walkway is the first area a customer will see when they enter the Greenhouse, so the Walkway should leave an excellent first impression.

The Walkway is where Heeman’s showcases seasonal products and merchandise. As the Seasonal Department Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the Walkway is reflective of seasonal trends and act as an information hub for customers as they enter the Greenhouse. You will also oversee the Walkway Associates, ensuring that they are trained and knowledgeable about the Walkway and the greenhouse.

**Responsibilities**:

- Acting as an information source for all customers and Daymakers on product locations, hanging baskets, patio pots, tropicals and seasonal trends.
- Supervising the Walkway Associates including training new Walkways Associates, providing continual coaching and support and assisting in, conducting employee performance reviews.
- Tracking the patio pot and hanging basket inventory levels in the back greenhouses and providing feedback to the Production Team and the Walkway Team to ensure full inventory levels are maintained in the retail greenhouse.
- Working with the Chief Daymaker to make procurement decisions on tropicals, bulbs and pumpkins and place orders with various vendors.
- Work in compliance with all human resources, operational (SOP) and Food, Health & Safety policies and procedures.

January - March _**
- Changing over the Holiday retail space and expanding the Houseplant Department into the Walkway.
- Overseeing the care and maintenance of houseplants in the Walkway.
- Supporting the Houseplants team with the receiving of houseplant shipments.

April - mid-May_**
- Placing orders with vendors for spring bulbs.
- Coordinating with delivery drivers for incoming shipments, maximizing the efficiency of the receiving process.
- Replenishing merchandise and product in the walkway department.
- Training new Walkway Associates and preparing them for the peak season
- Receiving all tropical plant shipments.
- Supporting the houseplant department with their receiving, when required.
- Tracking inventory levels of patio pots in the storage greenhouses.
- Communicating with the Production and Walkway teams about what patio pots are ready to be moved into the retail greenhouses.
- Placing orders with vendors for tropical plants for the proceeding spring/summer season.

Mid-May - June _**
- Focusing primarily on customer service and inventory replenishment.
- Directing a team to restock hanging baskets, patio pots and window boxes.

July - August _**
- Communicating with the Production Department on high-moving annuals and basket sales to maximize sales in non-peak season.
- Caring for plants by deadheading, trimming down and watering plants.
- Recovering the retail area post-peak season and changing over the retail space for the fall season.

September - October _**
- Replenishing fall inventory which may include (but is not limited to) pumpkins, fall porch packages.
- Tracking inventory levels.
- Placing orders with vendors.

November - December _**
- Setting up with greens and urns.
- Focusing on customer service and inventory replenishment.

**Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes**
- Excellent customer service skills
- Open communication style
- Resourceful, adaptable and shows initiative
- An eye for design and aesthetics
- Capable of following direction and working independently
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage frequent interruptions
- Adaptability to a continuously changing work environment

**Education, Experience & Language**
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in the customer service industry
- Hands-on leadership style and willingness to lead by example to train, coach and inspire fellow Daymakers
- Experience leading a small team
- Merchandising, stylizing or design background is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suites
- Prior retail, agriculture or greenhouse work experience is considered an asset
- Language: advanced English (written and oral)

**Availability**:

- Availability to work before and after regular hours and during all hours of operation (which will include evening and weekends)
- Availability to work up to 6 days per week
- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling changes
- Open availability for peak season (May 1st -31st)
- Transportation plan; Heeman’s is not located on a bus route
