POSITION TITLE**:Jr. Maintenance Worker**

BASIC FUNCTION: The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment as well as completing research and development into process changes and the acquisition of new equipment. This position has the opportunity to grow into a Maintenance Supervisor position within 3-5 years.

JOB TYPE: Full Time

HOURS PER WEEK: Hours vary depending on season

WAGE: $25.00/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Performs regular preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings.
- Repairs machinery, equipment, buildings and other company assets in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, manufacturing specifications, or by management request.
- Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities, per company policy.
- Prepares various reports as required.
- Identifies, researches and resolves problems related to plant equipment.
- Fabricates materials as required.
- Work in plant as an Assembler when required.
- Performing duties consistent with all applicable safety standards as well as company rules, regulations, and policies.
- Wears all required personal protective equipment and operates machinery within company policies.
- Shows up for work prepared on time every day.
- Researches potential CAPEX and presents them to management.
- Looks at potential methods of implementing continuous improvement.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with outside services that can be contacted if required (vendors, electricians, plumbers, HVAC etc.).
- Must be willing to work from heights.
- Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Previous work experience in machine repair and maintenance.
- Demonstrates ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams and operating manuals, to use precision measuring instruments and tools, and to use hand tools.
- Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding.
- Demonstrated ability to write legibly, maintain records, give and follow written and oral instructions.
- Has effective interpersonal skills. Role will involve communicating with multiple levels of management and external service providers.
- Understands how to operate computer software. Will be responsible for technical support for plant equipment via telephone and online.
- Ability to competently operate a variety of saws, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to work shifts and hours required by management. Must have strong attendance record. _(hours will differ from regular plant hours and may include weekends)_
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail are required.
