The Retail Store Manager is a leader focused on living Heeman’s values as they oversee our retail teams. This individual executes Heeman’s overall vision and strategy by effectively managing people and processes. They must possess dynamic leadership abilities and a keen retail mind focused on service, quality and profit. The Retail Store Manager demonstrates exceptional communication, an analytical mind and hands-on management skills with humility as they lead diverse teams of industry experts.
**What Does Your Work Day Look Like**:
- Ensure Heeman’s is a positive environment and “Happy Place” for all guests and Daymakers by supporting and delivering on our vision.
- Ensure adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures across all departments, providing guidance and support to managers to align their teams with Heeman’s mission and values.
- Contribute to Heeman’s overall success by overseeing and supporting relevant projects and exhibiting a positive attitude and work habits.
- Act as the lead ambassador for Heeman’s values among your team. You constantly push to make Heeman’s an industry leader in our community, province and beyond.
- Assess performance and provide ongoing feedback to direct reports.
- Collaborate with Senior Leaders to manage the company’s retail performance, working to achieve financial goals for sales growth with consideration of relevant KPIs.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of leaders, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their professional growth and success.
- Complete and deliver performance reviews and development plans of direct reports.
- Prioritize, arrange and organize daily agendas to meet business priorities; hold the team accountable for achieving expectations.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all leaders to ensure operational consistency and efficiency.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to identify short
- and long-term opportunities to develop actionable plans and initiatives.
**What will you bring to the table?**
- 10+ years of upper retail management experience leading a team of 30+ employees with multiple departments.
- A passion for guest experience, retail sales and employee wellness and engagement.
- Keen business mind to recognize sales trends and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Slack.
- Experience working in a highly seasonal environment is preferred.
- Experience working with a wide age range of employees and guests.
- Hands-on leadership style, desire to live our core values and lead by example.
- Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate open communication, Adapt to a continuously changing work environment.
**Education, Experience & Language**:
- Language: advanced English (written and oral).
- High level of experience managing all levels of employees.
- 10+ years of Upper Management Experience.
- Business-minded - ability to analyze trends.
- Horticulture, agriculture, or greenhouse work experience is an asset.
- Planning or Project Management experience.
**Availability**:
- Availability to work before and after regular hours and during all hours of operation (including evenings and weekends).
- Availability to work up to 6 days per week in peak season.
- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling changes.
- Open availability for peak seasons: April-July 1, September-end of Thanksgiving weekend, November.
