Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to manage and optimize HR functions in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance across **both**: companies. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated and passionate to gain experience as a general human resources professional. The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Human Resources Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruiting lifecycle across a variety of open roles in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
- Form relationships with internal management teams to know the ins and outs of their departments and better understand their hiring needs and job specifications
- Update and maintain the Human Resources (HR) Intranet (BambooHR), folders and other HR files as directed
- Update and maintain compliance system, including assistance with policy reviews and annual attestations
- Assisting with health and safety duties as required by public health and/or relevant legislation.
- Additional tasks as required

Required Qualifications
- 4-5 years experience, at least 2 years of progressive experience, CHRL/CHRP is an asset
- Manufacturing or start-up, clean-tech, experience supporting multiple entities or consulting is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related education and/or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy, professionalism and compassion.
- Experience researching and implementing employee benefit and health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies.
- Solid understanding of the Ontario Employment Standards Act and current payroll legislation; keeps up to date with changes to Ontario employment laws and other standards
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve problems and experience in streamlining and improving processes.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, understand user needs, and offer suggestions to address their requests and concerns.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities, ability to thrive in an environment where everyday is different than the last
- Support investigations and assist managers in conflict management and other issues
- Superior organizational skills with proven ability to manage various deliverables through to completion
- Ability to self-manage a project or process and complete tasks with mínimal supervision
- Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Curious, approachable, passionate, takes initiative and solutions finder
- Experience working with US and CAN manufacturing workforce is an asset

**Generalist**:

- Coordinate the performance management cycle, including goal setting and performance reviews.
- Implement employee training and development initiatives to enhance skills and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain compliance with employment regulations, industry certifications, and health and safety requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement through programs and initiatives.
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.

**Employee Engagement and Culture**:

- Facilitate the refinement, development and implementation of people focused programs, tools and resources.
- Full cycle program planning, including Performance, Feedback and Engagement, Recognition, and more.
- Maintain productive and collaborative relationships with key partners, and vendors, internal and external, to deliver on strategies that improve the employee experience.
- Analyze trends, research industry standards and make recommendations to improve employee experience and operational efficiencies.

**Recruitment**:

- Deliver full recruitment services from sourcing and interviewing to employee offers.
- Manage the off-boarding process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations.
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs across the organization
- Build and maintain a solid understanding of our talent market and competitive activity
