Regional Canadian Surety Manager

**Job Purpose**: Directly responsible and accountable for the marketing and underwriting of the Surety portfolio for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. The Regional Surety Manager is responsible for establishing strong broker relationships, building and managing a team of regional surety underwriters, effectively marketing surety’s capabilities, and underwriting profitable business in the Canada.
**Key Responsibilities/What You Do**:
- Developing and executing a strategic business plan in order to expand our business in the Canada.
- Developing and underwriting a profitable portfolio of Surety business through active engagement in the Surety marketplace with existing and new broker relationships.
- Documenting of all decisions and recommendations in a consistent and transparent manner.
- Establishing and maintaining key relationships while building out a regional underwriting team.
- Conducting account and portfolio underwriting activities in a manner consistent with underwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements established by the company.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Americas and internationally in order to fully leverage surety capabilities and existing customer base.
- Coordinating with Surety teams globally to ensure alignment on risk and underwriting issues.
- Actively participating in industry groups, and local surety events.
**Key Requirements/What You Bring**:
- 7 years+ industry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in surety in the Canada.
- Entrepreneurial skill set to establish and achieve goals and objectives.
- Established track record developing business with brokers.
- 4-year college degree with emphasis in business, economics, or finance.
Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio.
- Experience in the development and management of marketing plans, business plans and budgets.
- Knowledge of Surety distribution channels and experience in managing relationships with regional brokers.
- Recognized expertise in the underwriting of surety accounts and risks.
- Ability to work in fast paced, service driven environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Sound management and interpersonal skills in order to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong communication skills in order to establish a market presence
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time.

- Développer et exécuter un plan d'affaires stratégique afin d'étendre nos activités au Canada.
- Développer et souscrire un portefeuille rentable d'affaires de cautionnement en s'engageant activement sur le marché du cautionnement avec les courtiers existants et les nouveaux courtiers.
- Documenter toutes les décisions et recommandations de manière cohérente et transparente.
- Établir et maintenir des relations clés tout en développant une équipe de souscription régionale.
- Mener des activités de souscription sur les comptes et les portefeuilles d'une manière cohérente avec les directives de souscription et les exigences de gestion de portefeuille établies par la société.
- Collaborer avec les collègues des Amériques et du monde entier afin de tirer pleinement parti des capacités de cautionnement et de la base de clientèle existante.
- Coordonner avec les équipes de cautionnement au niveau mondial pour assurer l'alignement sur les questions de risque et de souscription.
- Participer activement aux groupes sectoriels et aux événements locaux liés à la caution.
