*There are TWO (2), 24-Month Fixed Term Internships Available*

Purpose of Position:
This position is intended to develop “professional regulators” by providing them exposure to all aspects of regulation, i.e., prudential supervision, conduct supervision, recovery and resolution, policy, complaints handling, inquiries, transaction approval, data analytics and deposit protection fund. Over the term of this position, roles and responsibilities will be evenly split between Credit Union and Insurance Prudential and Market Conduct teams. Reporting lines and job duties will vary with the role rotation. The benefit to participants is that successful completion of the program will allow them to understand regulatory operations and help them seek employment within FSRA or other financial sector regulators.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of a Credit Union Insurance and Prudential or Market Conduct team you will contribute to FSRA’s regulatory responsibilities for the relevant financial services sector. Activities will support the administration of the Credit Union and Caisses Populaires and Insurance Acts, associated Regulations, Rules and Guidance. Through individual assignments or by supporting collective and collaborative efforts within a team, duties will include:
- Participation in the assessment of regulated entities, while considering size, complexity and risk profile.- Participation in implementing, enhancing, and assisting the Practices / Conduct teams in maintaining the Risk Based Supervisory Framework for Credit Unions or Insurers.- Supporting the monitoring, market intelligence gathering, and analysis of business practices and operations of regulated entities to identify potential areas of risk and non-compliance with legislation, regulations, guidance, policy and business standards.**Qualifications**:
Education and Experience

You have graduated or will complete the requirements to graduate between May 2021 and June 2023 from a recognized or legally authorized university with a degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

Knowledge and Skills

University graduates with the following profile:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Proven attention to detail and organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.- Demonstrated analytical skills required to contribute to problem identification and solutioning.- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.- General understanding of business and finance.- Curious with ability to learn and adapt.- Proficient in office software use.
